Prevention is key to controlling cardiac risk and cardiovascular disease.
Cardiac and cardiovascular disease is on the rise! Do you look after your heart? I know everyone is busy, I have seen it over and over again. People that are too busy to look after their health. I’m a nurse and I know the effects that stress has on life. Prevention should be on everyone’s mind and keep in mind some cardiac diseases are preventable and some others are not.
Why not do what you can to prevent as much as you can?
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.
Henry David Thoreau
In medicine the only cure is never to let it happen. So you can bypass the heart problems by eliminating risks factors like smoking, being overweight, controlling your cholesterol levels, controlling high blood pressure and controlling diabetes. Tackle each risk like a line backer of a football game. The best defense is a strong offense. What I mean is everything you do is with risk, what you eat, drink, smoke and think. I come across people that were very young around 25 that have heart disease; I have seen 40 year old people drop dead at home. The underlying factor to all of that is stress, and stress leads to consuming high risk foods. Exercise is your ticket to reducing most of life’s stress. The human body is designed to be active and not sit around and collect dust.
Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.
Thomas Jefferson
Taking charge of your life means understanding how your body works and things that could go wrong. I will help you understand in simple terms not in medical mumbo jumbo what is involved in testing and treating certain cardiac problems. Look at the cardiac rhythms not to learn to diagnose but to see what a rhythm looks like and some of the machines we use to do these tests. I will go through some diseases with you that you may encounter on your journey and help you understand why we as medical professionals do what we do to get you healthier, to a position of better or equal function. In some cases it is impossible to undo the damage that is caused, but on the other hand, show you world class procedures that save lives everyday and change damage that is done. Everyone's aim when it comes to diseases should be prevention, prevent the problem then there is no problem.
Together we will discuss certain drugs that are used and again not to include any annoying medical stuff, well maybe a little, but not enough to make your head spin. You have the desire to learn I will be your teacher. The heart being the size of an adult fist is small, but it sure is packed with a lot of goodies that we will name and show you where everything is. So when the doctor talks to you about your heart you will known where everything is, well a good idea anyways.
