Fight inflammation with Omega 3 fatty acids

Inflammation creates health problems. Almost every disease hinges on the presence of inflammation. heart disease, arthritis, crohn's and cancer to name a few. The causes of inflammation are everywhere, overeating, eating too much omega 6's fatty acid, drinking alcohol, eating refined sugar and smoking.

It's not just inflammation but a cousin of inflammation that creates the problem and that is chronic inflammation. Synonymous with chronic inflammation are terms that health guru's talk about "being acidic" and the goal of therapy would be to be more "alkaline". I never understood what they were exactly talking about nor how to fix it until I studied the problem with heart disease and stumbled upon a simple cure to chronic inflammation.

As I mentioned previously in my newsletters that the problem of chronic begins in the liver with the foods that are ingested causing this low level inflammation. Quite simply what diseases tell us that we are out of balance and the goal is to become more in balance. It's not enough to stop doing what's causing the problem and bingo the problem is solved.

Stopping is indeed the first step, the next step is to bring the body back into balance. The problem that creates chronic inflammation is high omega 6 to omega 3 ratio. Overeating eating more calories than needed in a day causes omega 6's to spike in our body. At that point it doesn't matter what is being eaten whatever it is overeating (eating more calories than the body needs in a day) causes high omega 6's in the body. The first step is to identify how many calories the body needs in a day and eat within it.

Bring the body back into balance by eliminating other inflammation causing foods, eliminate refined sugar and replace it instead with natural unadulterated sugars such as honey and maple syrup and raw sugar, however, in excess these too can cause inflammation so limit it.

Regain the body's balance of omega 3's to omega 6 ratio by eating more natural forms of omega 3's if you have to take pills to do by all means take the natural supplement's. The ideal goal is to achieve a ratio of omega 3's to omega 6's of 2:1. For every 1 omega 6 consumed or created eating 2 omega 3's.

Mainly, Fish, flax seeds and chia seeds have the best sources of omega 3 fatty acids and offer a great way to bring the omega 3 to omega 6 ratio up to healthy levels.
