Can heart disease be averted? For instance, is it possible to change the course of a serious condition such as congestive heart failure?

Avert heart disease

Congested heart failure is one of the diseases that can be averted. Provided it is caught early enough and you know what the cause is. Remove those risk factors and adopt a healthy life style.

CHF can be caused by damage to the heart from a heart attack (For example), weakening the heart and thus not beat as effectively. Then removing the risk factors for a heart attack would help avert CHF.

CHF can be also caused by cardiomyopathy and you cannot change genetics, but you can adopt a healthy life style and reduce the effects of CHF.

Provided you know what the cause is. It is possible to avert heart disease or at least live with it. Always listen to your body, eat well and exercise within your tolerance.
