I have had a normal EKG, and I was told nothing was wrong. Does an EKG really tell the WHOLE story?

Ecg/Ekg not exactly the whole picture
by: Neil

Ecg/ekg or Electrocardiogram do not tell the whole story. They are limited in what we are able to see in the ECG. For example we can see old heart attacks by way of the Q wave. Sometiems we can see new heart attacks but not all the time. That is why doctors need to take blood to get the whole picture.

ECG's in conjunction with other tests and the cardiac examination will give the doctor a full picture.
